| Drayton Parslow Village School | Mursley C of E School | Swanbourne C of E School
| The schools at Swanbourne, Mursley and Drayton Parslow have worked together in partnership since September 2007. The aim of this partnership is to enhance the education provided and extend the range of services available to children of the three villages and surrounding areas. Since September 2007, the three schools have been under the management of one head teacher. She is the substantive head teacher of Drayton Parslow School and acting head teacher of Swanbourne and Mursley Schools and is supported by two assistant head teachers at each of the schools. The three schools currently employ 10 teachers and 11 support staff allowing for a staff to pupil ratio of approximately 1 to 8, well above the national average.
In December 2007, the three schools and their Governing Bodies entered into collaboration to formalise their partnership and to ensure effective governance of the three schools. This ensures that there are economies of scale in terms of budgeting and recruitment and the schools are able to benefit fully from the collective approach. Teaching at the three schools is organised with Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 education (years R, 1 and 2) at Mursley CE (VC) School and Drayton Parslow Village School, and Key Stage 2 education at Swanbourne CE (VA) School (years 3, 4 and 5; year 6 will be available from September 2009). This ensures complementary use of staff, teaching resources and existing facilities as well as enabling the schools to provide the type of services and facilities a larger school could provide, for example group school trips, including residentials, swimming lessons, hot school meals and wrap around care, while still retaining the small village school feel. | ||
